Call for Papers: TEACHERS, TEACHING, AND THE MOVIES 3

Open Call for Papers in the Special Keynote Session

Open Call for Papers: We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker, Glynda Hull, brings a new focus to our conference this year. In line with the announcement of our keynote speaker, we invite papers that explore the use of digital storytelling with youth (or youth media production broadly) through March 5th, 2010.

We encourage papers that focus on:

  • The use of alternative media by youth and their families to create supportive on-line communities
  • The use of media and on-line communities to support the literacy development of youth
  • The use of video or digital storytelling by youth and/or their families to disrupt master narratives with their own counternarratives

To promote broad participation at the conference, we ask that individuals appear as authors on no more than 2 submissions in total. Please submit proposals of at least 250 words and no more than 500 words by Friday, March 5th. Please direct any questions to Colette Cann at colette@teachingandthemovies.com.
